Darlington- Glen "Babe" Westerman, age 89, of Darlington, Wisconsin, died on Monday, April 25, 1994, at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County, Darlington, Wisconsin. He was born in Darlington on September 18, 1904, the son of Charles W. and Rose E. (McGuire) Westerman. He was married to the former Ruth C. Smith on September 25, 1934, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Darlington.
He worked as a mechanic for the Lafayette County Highway Department for 41 years until his retirement in 1970. He enjoyed traveling all of his life especially after his retirement in 1970. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Darlington.
Survivors are his wife Ruth of Darlington; a son, Charles (Maxine) Westerman, Darlington; five grandchildren, Richard Westerman, Darlington, Robert (Trish) Westerman, Darlington, Rita (Ron) Flesher, Darlington, Rodney (Trudy) Westerman, Monroe, Ronald (Lisa) Westerman, Lancaster; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, C. Leo Westermanon November 15, 1993.
Mass of resurrection will be at 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 27, 1994 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Darlington with Father Tom Coyle officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 pm on Tuesday, April 26, 1994 at the Steil Funeral Home, Darlington where a rosary service will be at 8 pm.
